COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) is a 3-year undergraduate program designed to equip students with the knowledge, technical skills, and practical experience required to work effectively in medical laboratories. As a critical component of the healthcare system, medical laboratory technologists play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases through clinical laboratory tests.

The BMLT curriculum covers a wide range of subjects including Clinical Biochemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Pathology, Immunology, Histopathology, and Molecular Biology. The program blends classroom instruction with hands-on laboratory training, ensuring students gain proficiency in handling laboratory instruments, conducting diagnostic tests, and analyzing biological samples.
Students learn to operate advanced diagnostic equipment such as automated analyzers, microscopes, and spectrophotometers, and gain an understanding of medical ethics, patient safety, quality control, and laboratory management. The course also emphasizes research methodology, data interpretation, and documentation—skills that are essential for producing accurate and reliable diagnostic results.
