Bachelor of Arts ( B.A. )

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) is a specially designed academic bridge course offered by institutions like the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and similar open universities across India. It serves as an enabling mechanism for individuals who wish to pursue undergraduate studies but do not possess the formal qualification of having completed 10+2 (higher secondary education). BPP is ideal for those who aspire to continue their education but, due to personal, social, or economic circumstances, were unable to complete their schooling through conventional means.

The primary aim of the BPP is to provide a second chance to learners who are motivated to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree but lack the formal eligibility. It empowers such learners by equipping them with foundational knowledge, academic skills, and confidence required to undertake degree-level education.
Through the BPP, students can gain admission into selected Bachelor's degree programs (such as B.A., B.Com., or BSW) even without a formal Class 12 qualification, thus democratizing access to higher education.
